Time Is Running Out on Home Buyer's Tax Credit

The Federal Home Buyer's Tax Credit is coming to an end. You must have a complete purchase contract by April 30,2010 and close escrow by June 30, 2010 to see if you are eligible for the tax credit. So get your offers accepted this week.

New Credit Card Rules

On Feb 22, 2010 new credit card rules came into affect. Some of the rules include:

  • No rate increase during first year or to existing card balances  
  • credit card fanProhibit issuing cards to those younger than 21 unless parent co-signs
  • Ban creditors from using the "two-cycle" billing method to impose additional interest
  • Prohibit creditors from allocating payments in ways to maximize interest
 
 
Your credit scores are comprised of five factors. Each component is awarded points and a high score is the most favorable. The Five Factors are:  
  • Payment History (35%)
  • Outstanding Credit Balances (30%)
  • Credit History (15%)
  • Type of Credit (10%)
  • Inquiries (10%)
 
It is recommended to view your credit report a least once a year. Contact us to learn how to obtain a free credit report.
